Customer challenges

The customer contacted Expro as we were recognized in the Egyptian market for our broad experience at providing production optimization and solutions on a fast track basis
The customer’s biggest challenge was finding a suitable production separator to operate as a Free Water Knockout (FWKO) Drum that would meet their process requirements within a tight schedule
This is a long-standing customer who had previously worked with our Well Flow Management product line on well testing operations but were now looking for a fast track approach to their challenge
The customer was facing production issues as they wanted to remove their main production FWKO Drum out of service for maintenance purposes. To do this they needed a reliable and complete modular package to process 5,000 BOPD, 45,000 BWPD and 6.8mmscf/d to an exacting process requirement
We were able to provide a three-phase separator package converted for use as an FWKO on a fast track basis enabling the client to maintain their target production rates

Expro Excellence

Expro provided engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of a three-phase separator (FWKO) with a total capacity equal to 50,000 barrels of liquid per day in addition to 6.8 mmscf/d of gas
We offered a fast track deployment with additional separator capabilities allowing a complete internal sand jetting system to clean and remove any accumulated sludges, sand or debris inside the vessel and thermally insulated oil and gas lines
From the preliminary engineering phase, we worked with several stakeholders, managing any challenges and meeting the customer’s requirements and timeline
The consequences for the customer would have been to shut down their production facility, resulting in a production loss of 175,000 BPD due to the schedule of maintenance of their FWKO vessel
Expro made the fast track concept a reality. Modifying an existing three phase production separator to deliver a FWKO to their process requirements

Value to client

Through the fast track deployment of our modified production separator we avoided any nonproductive time caused by the offline maintenance of the existing FWKO
We exceeded the customer’s expectations in terms of the oil in water ppm and in the water in oil percentage process specifications
As well as enhancing the quality of produced water with the design of their FWKO vessel
