excape_sml.jpgThe EXCAPEŽ completion process is designed to isolate, perforate and stimulate multiple zones in hours instead of days or even weeks and allow the optimisation of the stimulation process. Results have shown not only radically reduced completion times but also better well productivity and bookable reserves due to improved stimulation.

see this in action at our technology zone An EXCAPE completed well in Mexico exhibited a gas rate over 50% higher than the best offset well with the entire process of shooting / isolating / fracturing 5 zones taking only 30 hours compared to 65 days normally. For wells in Alaska, EXCAPE has more than doubled the wells Productivity Index and allowed the client to increase reserve bookings by 90% while decreasing the reserve development costs by 30%.

The perforating guns for each zone are attached to the outside of the casing at the required intervals and run in the hole with the casing. Hydraulic control lines are attached and run on the outside of the casing. These lines are used to fire the guns and provide pressure monitoring back to surface.

In between each zone an isolation device is placed in the casing which will enable each zone to be isolated individually.

The casing is run into the well and correlated to the correct depth. The lower zone is then perforated and stimulated as required. The gun for the next zone is then fired, which causes the isolation valve to the lower zone to close. This zone can then be stimulated in isolation from the lower zone.

Once this zone is completed, the next zone is perforated with another isolation valve closing to isolate the already stimulated lower zones. This process is continued up the well bore until all the zones have been individually stimulated. Over 20 zones have been perforated and stimulated in a single well using EXCAPE.
