ELSA-OW

Deployment of vertical production trees on drillpipe or tubing from drilling rigs has resulted in the use of subsea safety systems outside the marine riser and therefore capable of withstanding open water (marine) conditions.  The ELSA-OW (open water) product range covers all systems deployed in this environment.

The Open Water Bore Selector is designed to interface with dual-bore production trees and allows deployment of a dual bore system on a mono-bore riser. In this application the Bore Selector is normally run between the Emergency Disconnect Package and the Riser Stress Joint. The system is also sufficiently flexible that it can be interfaced easily with Workover Control Systems.

Open Water Lubricator and Retainer Valves are available for both 10K and 15K applications.  These are positioned between the tree running tool and the rig floor.  The valves enable safe deployment of intervention tools, provide a safety barrier should the tree valves become inoperable and provide intervention string cutting capability keeping the production tree valves in pristine condition.

Due to the exposure to the marine environment and lack of external riser these valves must be able to withstand higher bending moments than in riser valves. The valves have collared connections with integral end subs machined to project specific pipe threads.

All ELSA-OW systems can be operated by ROV if required.
