Leading international oilfield services company, Expro, has won a fifth President’s Award in the RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2018 – building on 13 consecutive years of awards from this key industry organisation.
One of the most significant contributing factors to Expro’s latest success was the development of the bespoke investigation toolkit, “Intelligent Investigation”. It is utilised in order to investigate accidents, near misses and quality failures, providing a robust process that enhances the safety improvement cycle within the company.
This latest award is exclusively presented to organisations that sustain the highest standards of health and safety management and innovation over consecutive years. It recognises Expro’s continued success in safety, including its robust Management of Change process that risk assesses and mitigates the potential for failure when introducing change into any operation or activity.
Expro has been recognised by RoSPA every year since 2005, including four oil and gas sector awards, the Gold Medal in 2010 and the Scotland Trophy in 2013. The President’s Award is presented to those organisations that have achieved consecutive gold awards.
The award, now in its 62nd year, considers entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety performance and management, including practices such as leadership and workforce engagement.
Ian Robb, Group HSEQ Manager, commented:
“Expro’s continued dedication and commitment to health and safety has once again been recognised by winning this prestigious accolade.
“This award has been achieved thanks to everyone’s contribution in championing safety throughout the year and I’d like to thank them for unwavering commitment. We work hard to deliver a range of ongoing initiatives that ensure it remains embedded within our culture as well as our business process.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said:
“The RoSPA Awards are the most highly-respected in the health and safety arena, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, and allow organisations to prove excellence in the workplace, demonstrating a commitment to the wellbeing of not only employees but all those who interact with it.”
Expro will be presented with the award at a special ceremony and gala dinner to be held at the ExCeL in London on June 19.
